Configuration
Score Threshold
Configure when Brandlint passes or fails your pull requests.
The threshold setting determines the minimum score required for a PR to pass the Brandlint check.
Setting the threshold
threshold: 70PRs scoring at or above this value pass. PRs below fail.
Choosing a threshold
| Threshold | Best for |
|---|---|
| 90+ | Strict brand enforcement, public-facing products |
| 70-89 | Balanced approach, most teams |
| 50-69 | Lenient, early-stage products |
| Below 50 | Advisory only, learning your guidelines |
Start lenient, tighten over time
If you're new to Brandlint, start with a lower threshold (50-60). This lets your team:
- See how scoring works without blocking PRs
- Identify false positives in your guidelines
- Gradually increase strictness as you refine rules
Different thresholds per repo
Use different thresholds for different repositories:
threshold: 90threshold: 50Disabling the check
To run Brandlint in advisory mode (always passes), set:
threshold: 0Brandlint still posts suggestions, but the check never fails.
