Scores Explained
How Brandlint calculates brand consistency scores.
Every PR receives a score from 0 to 100 indicating how well your copy aligns with your brand guidelines.
Score ranges
| Score | Rating | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 90-100 | Excellent | Copy is highly consistent with guidelines |
| 70-89 | Good | Minor improvements possible, generally solid |
| 50-69 | Fair | Multiple issues that should be addressed |
| Below 50 | Poor | Significant deviations from brand voice |
How scores are calculated
Brandlint evaluates each user-facing string against your guidelines, considering:
- Tone alignment — Does the copy match your brand's formality level?
- Word choice — Are you using preferred terminology?
- Clarity — Is the copy clear and actionable?
- Consistency — Does it match patterns elsewhere in your product?
The final score is a weighted average across all reviewed strings.
Improving scores
To raise your scores:
- Review suggestions and apply recommended changes
- Update your guidelines to match your actual voice
- Adjust the threshold if it's set too aggressively
